Information Designer/Writer

In this role, the "Master" of Information design will be a writer and eLearning Designer who will be the principle architect with design of online interactive lessons, games, and long format online courses, as well as additional instructional materials, possibly including help documentation and instructor-led training guides.  Regardless of the format, the materials developed will be engaging and interactive. You should have a self image connected to these key words:  organizer of material, clarifier, flow charter, communicator, collaborator, educator, creative writer, and/or digital story teller.

You will collaborate with a team that may include account managers, project managers, instructional designers/writers, graphic designers, and web developers, LMS administrators and server side programmers. This position completes the task of information design within each of our product lines and works at various times with all members of our staff to ensure quality and efficiency. Client-facing responsibilities include implementing design specifications and providing regular status reports during project meetings.

The incumbent may conduct instructional analysis, chunk existing material for presentation to learners, both online and offline, and develop storyboards and other documents to communicate with other team members and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field such as Journalism or English required. Masters degree in instructional design or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously with great efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to maintain high levels of creativity and quality.
  • Experience in course development in a distance learning or Web-based training environment, preferred
  • A solid understanding of Web technologies, a background in instructional design, education, and/or learning theory.
  • Multi-faceted production experience in a distance education, training, or digital media environment, including experience designing and developing courses using HTML, Flash, video, and graphics preferred
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, particularly Moodle preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with subject matter experts to develop content preferred
  • Experience with academic institutions and adult learners preferred
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced atmosphere with high standards for quality, accuracy, and innovation.

Experience with design and development of web copy, especially learning technology solutions within a reusable framework. Knowledge of instructional systems design (ISD) and adult learning principles,. Familiarity with Information Mapping principles, especially concept maps, process and work flow mapping and mind mapping. Knowledge of Learning Management especially Moodle and or similar SCORM-based Learning Management System preferred. Performance support, ISD certification, and/or multiple advanced learning technologies. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication, analytical, analysis, planning and organizational and PC skills required.

Multimedia Developer

Web Courseworks develops games and simulations along with other forms of Flash based learning objects! Join this rapidly growing team of Creatives involved in Flash game development and high concept Flash applications.  We are looking for a talented Multimedia Developer who wants to learn and grow with a fun team of other talented writers and developers. Duties will include Flash programming and development, graphic design, audio editing, online course assembly and other special creative projects as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge:
