Hosted Learning Management System (LMS)

Client: J.J. Keller

The Challenge:

The nation's leading supplier of safety and regulatory compliance solutions needed a low-cost learning management system to deliver its courses.

WCW Solution:

Web Courseworks developed a customized learning portal powered by Moodle. By tailoring the LMS to the client’s needs, the Web Courseworks Learning Portal could communicate with the client’s legacy ordering system so their existing systems and practices were not affected. The Web Courseworks Learning Portal delivers more than 250 courses through portals customized for each of the client’s customers in an effective, secure learning environment.

Client: Georgia Urban Agricultural Council (UAC)

The Challenge:

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) mandated the use of a registration program to limit water usage, including a ban on watering new landscapes. The Georgia Urban Agriculture Council (UAC) had less than a month to develop an educational component of the registration program. Rapid deployment of an online portal was crucial to educate and license consumers by the springtime deadline.

WCW Solution:

The Georgia UAC teamed up with Web Courseworks, a Learning Service Provider, to offer the Outdoor Water Use Registration Program through an online portal. As an LMS host, we rapidly deployed the portal by using a derivative of Moodle LMS.

While Georgia residents have the alternative to view the slideshow and take the quiz for free at a county extensions service office, more than 97% of certifications completed so far have been through the online portal at http://www.urbanagcouncil.com/.

"Using the Internet is an efficient and fast, superior way to go about this," said Bret Bowlin of Georgia UAC. By using eLearning, the state of Georgia has been able to educate and license over 13,000 people on water conservation in less than 90 days.

eCourse Development

WCW Solution:

Web Courseworks developed a high-quality learning experience including Flash-based interactive components, video segments with interactive cue points, check on learning activities, and pre- and post-exams. Using our custom authoring system, Web Courseworks effectively collaborated with Subject Matter Experts to rapidly construct the course content while the client provided instant feedback through the built-in online review process.

Client: Credit Union National Association (CUNA)

The Challenge:

The association was seeking a program to help credit union managers across the country learn how to price products and manage investments. The client need effective eCourses designed with the educated, self-motivated adult learner in mind.

WCW Solution:

Web Courseworks worked with the client to create a program that fits in with the busy executive lifestyle, resulting in a fast-paced tutorial format with quick checks for understanding after each lesson.

Web Courseworks/ Madison Productions has partnered with CUNA for twenty years to create interactive media for training purposes. Titanium, WCW’s internal course authoring system, supports the development of over 30 CUNA courses and exams annually. WCW also hosts and delivers hundreds of CUNA courses to multiple LMSs across the country.

Simulations

Client: Miller Brewing Co.

The Challenge:

Miller wanted to provide its chain operations with training materials to help those chains improve their profits.

WCW Solution:

Web Courseworks provided a comprehensive solution using multiple forms of electronic media. Within an online learning portal, employees can:

  • Stream any of 23 videos
  • Download videos as podcasts
  • Download learning materials in PDF format
  • Take certification exams, which the company can track via the portal
  • Play a "Tap Into More Tips" interactive simulation

Web Courseworks created an immersive learning simulation (a Flash game with three levels) that revolved around the skills and techniques needed for bartender services. Designed for adult learners, “Tips on Tap” used educational gaming principles to reinforce good customer service and proper draught beer serving techniques.

Client: Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin

The Challenge:

Children love learning with highly interactive games. The Children’s Health Education Center knew that the most effective way to teach students about health topics would be to create innovative and fun learning activities.

WCW Solution:

Web Courseworks partnered with the Center to develop numerous activities teaching students complex concepts through interactive learning activities. For example, one high-impact game gave students the task of grocery shopping to create a healthy menu. Students must race against the clock to choose foods that create balanced and healthy meals. A bonus round requires students to “zap” unhealthy foods off the checkout conveyor, reinforcing what they have learned.
